Don't forget that the clocks go forward one hour at 1am this Sunday morning. If you are out for a ride, don't get left on the start line and wonder where everybody is. The Royal Museum Greenwich has some QI facts.

Hmm. I think that there's a bit of Euclid that applies here. Returning to a given point - say home to home - means that the ascent and descent are always equal, no matter what the route. The route is not necessarily flat.
Setting Euclid aside, a ride in the Surrey Hills is always more enjoyable than a flat one. This is Tollerman's Axiom, to which I subscribe, today's excellent ride being a further proof.
And as for Geo Osborne, well ...

Memo to self, when taking a short cut to lunch, make sure you really do know the way....
I might have missed some of the hills around lunch, but did do Ranmore on the way to Dorking first thing.
62 miles 4700feet
Is there a bit of me that does not hurt?

I do know from our Archives that Terry led the B Group along Muddy Lane on 23 September 2009. Here is the link to the blog and photos of those on that ride.
The photo is of poor resolution, but shows a group of about 20
riders. There must be innumerable instances in the 15 years from 1983 to
2009. Since we have a champion who is prepared to fight to retain our access, we should offer him all the support that we can muster. I am the most unlikely person to have knowingly used this route, but if you have used Muddy Lane in that 15 year period, do please let George know, with whatever detail you can provide. If you are too shy to contact him, let me know. His email address is: GeorgeJ@georgejames.com. I hope that those in the photo (perhaps one person on behalf of the rest) and others will be able and willing to help. If you don't use it, lose it!Author: Jeff
