To Dawn and David his family I give my deepest condolences! It was only at the funeral of Margaret Squirrel that i talked about David. He was a stalwart of the SWLDA and will be very missed. My deepest condolences to Dawn and her family. God bless them all. David was a true and honorable member of the old CTC and will be much missed!

I wil ride the course before the event. Could you please send me a copy of the risk assessment. On the day I will arrive early at the check in, then ride up to the Logmore turnoff and mark the turn where Ray used to stand. Anything else please let me know.

I'll ride the route and report back, Mike. I'm afraid I won't be able to help on the day as I'll be away.

Thank you Mark much appreciated. As David V will already know I have sent him the RA which was the one previously expertly provided by you! It is great to receive all the offers of support for this event which gives me the courage to persevere!
Just for further information I spoke to Eric Flint yesterday from Mickleham who rode last year and boosted the contribution to St. Raphael's significantly. Unfortunately he and his wife Mary are currently very committed to helping a friend with Cancer and he doubts that he will be able to ride. We wish them all well.
Please don't be shy all you fit and able MWW to enter, the more the merrier including the ladies!

Well done to all of you. Although I'm not sure Shakespeare knew much about cycling in the rain when he wrote that line...

Well done Mark for leading such an intrepid bunch of 5 stalwarts. The wind was so strong over night it blew the door of my garden shed so I took one look at the weather and decided that I did not want to get blown off my bike with all my other aches and pains! Had intended to do Hilly 50 Flyer drop-off's at various cycle outlets but will do Thurs or Fri with better weather I hope.

Many thanks Mark. I guess we all got home in the light, for the first time in 2018, Spring must be on the way.

Wow great effort puts me to shame - I wimped out to the cross trainer and bicycle shop. Fingers crossed for better weather next Wed.

Dirty days hath September
April June and November
From January up to May
The rain it raineth every day
All the rest have thirty-one
Without a blessed gleam of sun
And if any of them had two-and-thirty
They'd be just as wet and twice as dirty."

That photo could have been us 2km short of the top of Mt Ventoux when our tour company sent us back down. One of the group a little way ahead was on a Piarello Dogma ultra light carbon bike - he could have tied a piece of string to it and used it as a kite - instead he sat down at the road side ad waited for the van to collect him.

Thankyou to Gill for a lovely, peaceful ride beside the waterways, and to all the B group for your company.
And if I might just mention one minor quibble: the so-called Three Bridges is really only two bridges: a canal over the railway, and a road over the canal. I feel short-changed!
