Congratulations to Dave & Jennie what a wonderful total to raise for such a worthy cause! I look forward to a chat at Cobham 2morrow. I am so intrigued as to how you made the whole course and what time you started? I was pushed off the Box Hill bit which to me is the easiest of the big hills. Well done.

Well done to all. I was out cheering at Leatherhead and the bottom of Box Hill and then later at the bottom of Wimbledon Hill. A really drenching day cold winds so really exceptional for riders to have got through it all. Did meet a fallen rider on the train back from Leatherhead who had skidded off in the wet on the bend at Leatherhead ... as many others did.

Having completed all 6 RideLondon events I have to say this was by far the hardest! The rain was so heavy it made it almost impossible to see and the headwind on the way out made it a relief to start climbing the Surrey hills. I was glad my luggage had been left in London otherwise I would have found it very tempting to exit in the many places I was only a few miles away from home.
However, I actually enjoyed the hills, being so familiar with them made it easier and by that point I’d long decided I wasn’t pushing myself for a fast time so I could sit back and relax a bit. My disk brakes worked perfectly on the descents and I was very glad of them.
I was fortunate to have no punctures as very many people did. However, I did see two vans going round stopping to help as did some of the Ride Captains.
I also had the full course open to me but nevertheless rode slightly short of 100 miles.
Unsurprisingly there were far fewer supporters out but those who were, including many of the marshalls, helped. As did the Ride Captain who rode with a speaker and playlist of motivational music. It was great to hear Geoff call out my name which spurred me on towards Wimbledon hill.
Would I do it again? Not if you’d asked me on Sunday, but the ballot opens next Monday so who knows. Maybe.

When train and bike works it’s great to get to and from the choicest off-road rides:pity the poor commuters into the city from Brighton & Eastbourne.
Watch this space for a bit of gravel from Cobham on Weds.!

Hi Keith my announced "P" stop must have been rather timid but clearly neither Janice or Jeffrey understood my intention. I shot off up to the KPRC 10 TT car park and left my Van Nic clearly parked on the Echelon sing on the RHS at the left corner having gone up the hill past the church. Chased after you down to the "T" junction hence through Newdigate to Rusper when I text Dave V, where is lunch. Pitty I missed you all but I ended up checking the Hilly 50 course down Logmore Lane having surmounted Coldharbour beforehand as training for the Pru. I also set up the Hilly 50 start with Rykas before going home via Box Hill.
Look forward to seeing some of you if not all on Sunday. Best of luck have a safe ride!

Nails ride, Mike, but I think you may have been on the wrong path. It's only about 100 yards from North Stoke to South Stoke.

Thank you Mark for a splendid day out and although I was puffing and panting for most of the way it was a memorable day out and good training for the Pru 100. More about your splendid recommendation of a ride to Arundel along the banks of the river Arun in a separate blog.
