On receiving the Arthur Jessop Trophy Albert enquired who was Arthur Jessop? Thanks to Bill Squirrell for providing the picture from the distant past

Hello, just found this..

Arthur Jessop was my great-grandfather. He was married to Ada Shaw, and they had two daughters, Margaret and Claris, in Yorkshire, England. Claris was my grandmother.

Sadly, Ada and Arthur separated with Arthur moving to Cape Town in April 1950.

If you have access to any other photos or stories about him, I'd be fascinated to hear.

I've allowed this comment in as it seems to be in good faith, but having read it in full I am not convinced that this is the Arthur Jessop shown in the photograph here and who I knew living in the London (England) area in the late 1990s.

Of course it's possible that he spent a while in Cape Town in the 50s and then returned to England.

Something for me to do further research on.
