It was quite a strange morning. Not much sign of frost at home and I didn't leave till it was clearly thawing. Roads were mostly dry and no sign of any ice - just damp in places. But as I got a bit higher there was clearly some temperature inversion. Roads still dry but my Garmin was showing Zero to -1C and the cloud over the hills was freezing leading to some lovely effects.
When I got home I found that Garmin had given me a Frosty Award.

Maggie and I were out a bit later than you, and the rime was melting by then. So we had curious conditions where it was raining under the trees, but not in the open.
No Frosty Award for us.
