Easy Riders Jaunt to Teddington Lock, 19th May

We arrived at Cowey Sale, Walton at 11.00 where we meet up with Peter Tiller and Terry Lowe who were just visiting. By 11.30 we were fully refreshed and ready to go. Helen quickly organised us into two groups ready for a quiet road ride through the outskirts of Shepperton, Upper Halliford and Lower Sunbury. On leaving Lower Sunbury we took a track up between the waterworks, across Upper Sunbury Road and along another track into Hampton. From there it was a quick ride into Bushey Park at the High Street gate. Once in the park we followed the deserted track south around the park, past the Pheasantry and onto Cobbler’s Walk to exit the park at Park Road. It was then a short distance via Kingston roundabout and along Lower Teddington Road to lunch at the Tide End Cottage, Ferry Road. The pub served us well, although a little slow due to everyone being new to the job having only opened on Monday. A group of us worked our way to Richmond Park, exiting at Kingston gate, before heading for home, others made their way home straight from the pub.  Despite the poor weather forecast, we stayed dry and had an excellent ride!
