Urban rides are a bit like Marmite, love them or hate them. Therefore I was surprised & delighted to recruit seventeen riders for the trip to Eltham. The route to the Palace took in Richmond park, Streatham Hill up & on to Crystal Palace and eventually to Eltham Palace and to lunch via the quiet King John’s Walk. There was limited opportunity to see the palace but we were rewarded with an excellent lunch at the highly recommended Park Tavern.
The return trip seemed to be more popular, quieter roads and three park lands made the trip less challenging.
My thanks to Dave Ward for leading the second group & to Dave Jackson for stepping up to lead the third group at the last minute.
