Club Additional Ride Cobham to Staines

We set out from Cobham on a mild and surprisingly dry day, with Tony leading and Geoff taking up position at the back. Our route took us through Ockham and Wisley, then on towards West Byfleet and New Haw, before continuing through Lyne.

The group—Tony, Liz, Gill, Martina, Ray, Pete and Geoff, we kept a steady and sociable pace throughout. At one point, we encountered a road closure, but with a bit of group consensus and careful judgment, we simply walked around the barriers and carried on without difficulty.

We reached Staines in good time and met Pam for lunch, it was nice to see her, and she was bubbly as usual, where the conversation flowed as easily as the riding had. The return journey was equally pleasant, with mild temperatures and the welcome absence of rain making it feel more like early autumn than late in the season.

“After Staines, we took an unusual but pleasantly short route home, and some of us soon found ourselves enjoying tea and cake at Squires GC in Haliford. Thanks to everyone for the good company — a lovely ride!”

A relaxed, friendly ride in good company—just how we like it.

Tony..
