Robert's ride to The Beehive from Tanhouse Farm 9.9.26

The only real challenge on this ride was getting to the start! Henfold lane was closed just north of Newdigate. Our intrepid delegate, Bernard, pleaded with the heavily armed workman to let us walk past but alas to no avail. So we backtracked to a bridleway on Ewood lane & managed to get around. Another group found a shorter detour through a locked gate, brambles & over a style on foot! From Tanhouse we were 11, split into 2 groups led first by Stephanie then myself. It was 18 miles to lunch at the Beehive in Dovers Green via rolling hills, scenic countryside, Horley, Smallville & Outwood. The Beehive had a nice, large, outdoor seating area & efficiently served us lunch specials. After lunch we continued 12miles on sweeping downhills thru Brockham & Dorking to tea at Leatherhead.
