A Group Ride, 15/10/25

A good turnout from The Queens Stage on Wednesday, 21 riders in three groups met for elevenses, and proceeded to climb up to Holmbury St Mary’s after which the route became a little easier. Onto Walliswood and then winding our way into the back of Warnham for lunch. Along the lanes the autumn colours are absolutely amazing at this time of year, very special.

We had pre ordered our lunches which were served promptly, some were querying the service charge, so sorry, maybe I should have pointed this out but it was actually on the menu.

After lunch we had a gentle ride back through Rusper and Newdigate where just after, in Henfold Lane, the road was closed so the various groups made diversions to get around this, different ways, some went to Brockham and rejoined at Punchbowl Lane whilst others went along cycle paths to Dorking. Then we all used the usual cycle path to Leatherhead. Nine had afternoon tea and cake in Lucio’s and others went to Charlie and Ginger.

There were spectacular views along the route, at one point if you looked right the sun was shining on the chalk of the hills, beautiful.

Thanks to all that came on the ride, for your good feedback, it appears that you all enjoyed it.

Yours
Jennie
