Despite a failure to ‘medal’ on Wednesday I think I can safely say that the B’s enjoyed a good day out all the same! Success was achieved by A group riders as you can read in Janice’s ride report.
Tilehurst Lane was new to me and with the addition of extra corner markers proved a good alternative to the roadworks-stricken Roothill. After some very fierce competition, punctuated only by some inconsiderate motorists who had made the unwise decision to drive up Tilehurst, awards were handed out and we headed off to lunch at The Running Horse in Leatherhead. There was a little confusion over our pre orders but the staff, headed by the lovely Cindy worked through it and soon riders were tucking into tasty lunches which incidentally were excellent value for money. As Steph quite rightly pointed out, it was lovely to all sit together at one big table and an added bonus that Tony H and Diane could join us.
Some folks headed home after lunch so Gill and I led reduced groups back to Esher for tea.
Many thanks to Gill for sub-leading, corner markers and backmarkers.
