Because Elleray Hall, Teddington is closed due to rebuilding work, we are starting our B ride from the Flying Cloud Café which is located next to footbridge across the Thames, 27 Ferry Road, Teddington, TW11 9NN .Unfortunately there are no toilets there but we are allowed to use the pubs toilets across the road, but we should allow time for this. We will also be stopping for a toilet break at the exit to Richmond Park at Sheen Gate.
I expect to have 3 starting times with the first away at
10.30. We will be riding though Richmond Park, across Chiswick Bridge and using
the north tow path along the river until just past Hammersmith. We then enter
the busier roads that take us along High Street Kinsington to Regents Park,
followed by Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace, St James’s Park, crossing over the
Thames at Chelsea Bridge at before entering Battersea Park with lunch at the
Lighthouse pub. At lunch we will be able to park our bikes in the rear enclosed
garden. After lunch we pass close to Clapham Common, Earlsfield, Wimbledon
before entering Richmond Park for tea at the Pen Ponds Caffe.
The route is mainly flat and picturesque with a number of
sights to see, so judging by our recce it will take us 2 ½ hours to lunch. If
