Elevenses will be at the Queens Stage, The Street, Effingham KT24 5LU.
The morning ride will be about 16 miles with about 1,700 ft of elevation. Lunch will be at The Royal Oak, in beautiful Holmbury St Mary. It’s been a while since we’ve been there. The route to lunch will pass Green Dene into Shere village from where we will enjoy riding some some lesser-known hills like Row Lane and Winterfold Heath road with very low traffic and quiet and scenic heaths and woodlands.
The afternoon ride will be about 16 miles as we head back up to the ridge at Green Dene via Combe Lane. Tea
will then be a short ride away at Café Barbera at Stoke D’Abernon.
The Royal Oak pub requires pre-orders so I need to know your
lunch preference before 6pm Monday evening so I can email the pub soon after.
You can see the menu below. There is a wide variety to choose
from, including sandwiches.
If you would like to join the ride, please Email me
directly before 6pm Monday evening. Thanks.
Look forward to seeing you on Wednesday. The forecast is dry with light cloud so perfect conditions for cycling.
Francis
